A decentralized Litecoin Lightning community for ultra-micro payments, encrypted messaging, and on-chain gaming. Built on a forked noStrudel running its own Nostr relay. A first of its kind — currently in testing.
litStrudel is a self-hosted social community that runs entirely on open protocols. There are no accounts on a company server — your identity is a cryptographic key pair that you control.
Payments happen over the Litecoin Lightning Network in "lits" (1 lit = 1 millisatoshi LTC). Tips, game wagers, and transfers are instant and essentially free.
Everything — the relay, the mint, the wallet backend, the app — is operated by a single node for this community. No middlemen, no ads, no data harvesting.
The first decentralized social app with a built-in game engine, Lightning wallet, and eCash — all verifiable on-chain. Nothing else comes close.
Every game move is a signed Nostr event (kind 1069) published to the relay. The game state (kind 30069) is a replaceable event that anyone can verify. No hidden servers, no trust required — the move history is a public, cryptographically signed ledger. Wagers are locked in Cashu P2PK escrow with timelock refunds, so funds are provably fair.
Kind 30069 Kind 1069 Cashu P2PKThe real advantage isn't just 4x faster blocks — it's the fees. Opening and closing Lightning channels requires an L1 transaction, and on Bitcoin that can cost dollars. On Litecoin it's fractions of a cent. That makes micro-payment channels actually viable. Plus Litecoin has MWEB (MimbleWimble Extension Blocks) for confidential on-chain transactions — amounts and addresses are hidden at the base layer, a privacy feature Bitcoin doesn't have.
LND BOLT-11 MWEB LTC LightningYour wallet talks to the Lightning node over Nostr itself using NIP-47 (Nostr Wallet Connect). No HTTP APIs, no CORS, no exposed endpoints. Payment requests and responses are encrypted events on the relay. The wallet key never leaves your device.
NIP-47 NIP-04 Kind 23194/23195Cashu mints issue blinded tokens backed by Lightning. Transfers are unlinkable — the mint can't trace who sent what to whom. Convert Lightning to eCash in one click. Use eCash for tips, game wagers, and transfers with cryptographic privacy that HTTP APIs can't match.
Cashu NIP-61 Kind 9321DMs use NIP-17 gift-wrapped messages — even the relay can't see who you're talking to. Wallet credentials and app settings are NIP-44 self-encrypted (kind 30078) so they sync across devices but only you can read them. Your keys, your data.
NIP-17 NIP-44 NIP-04 Kind 30078No other Nostr client has a built-in board game with provably fair escrow. No other Lightning app runs its wallet protocol over Nostr relays. No other social platform combines encrypted messaging, micro-tipping, eCash privacy, and competitive gaming in a single decentralized stack.
Nostr Lightning Cashu QawaleEverything runs on Litecoin Lightning and Nostr. No app store, no sign-ups with email — just keys and lits.
Tip any post with a single tap. Amounts from 1 to 100,000 lits via a logarithmic slider. Instant settlement over Lightning.
Lightning and Cashu eCash balances in one place. Send, receive, and convert between them. Connected via NWC — your keys, your funds.
End-to-end encrypted DMs using NIP-17 private messaging or NIP-04 legacy mode. No one can read your messages — not even the relay.
Play Qawale with Cashu eCash wagers locked in P2PK escrow. Spectate live games and place side-bets. Elo rankings and leagues.
Privacy-preserving tokens backed by Litecoin Lightning. Convert Lightning to Cashu with one click. Use for tips, games, and transfers.
A dedicated Nostr relay just for this community. No algorithmic feeds — see posts from real people in chronological order.
litStrudel is a PWA-first app — no app store needed. Install it straight from your browser in seconds.
Go to app.litstrudel.xyz in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox).
litStrudel is a Progressive Web App — it runs like a native app without an app store.
iPhone/iPad: Tap the Share button (square with arrow), then "Add to Home Screen".
Android: Tap the three-dot menu, then "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen".
Desktop: Click the install icon in the address bar, or use Menu → "Install litStrudel".
Tap "Create Account". Choose a display name and set an encryption password. The app generates a Nostr key pair — this is your identity. A Lightning wallet is automatically provisioned for you.
Your secret key (nsec) is the only way to recover your account. Write it down or store it in a password manager. If you lose it, no one can help you — that's the point of decentralization.
Post notes, send encrypted messages, tip other users, play board games for Cashu stakes, and explore the community feed. Your Lightning wallet is ready to go.
The short version: this is experimental software on a test network. Use at your own risk.
You must be at least 18 years old to use litStrudel. By accessing the platform, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
You are solely responsible for complying with all laws and regulations that apply in your jurisdiction. litStrudel does not monitor, enforce, or take responsibility for local laws regarding cryptocurrency, messaging, gambling, or any other activity on the platform. If using this platform is not legal where you are, do not use it.
litStrudel is a proof-of-concept application currently in active development and testing. The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice.
This application currently runs on a Litecoin regtest (regression test) network. The lits (Litecoin millisatoshis) used within the app have no real monetary value. They exist solely for testing and demonstration purposes. Do not treat them as real currency.
Lits on this platform have no monetary value. This is a test network. Do not purchase, sell, or trade them for real money.
Your account is controlled by a cryptographic key pair that only you possess. The operator of this service does not have access to your private key and cannot recover it if lost. You are solely responsible for:
The relay, mint, wallet backend, and web application may experience downtime, data loss, or complete reset at any time. The operator makes no guarantees about uptime, data persistence, or service continuity.
litStrudel currently runs on a single operator's infrastructure (relay, mint, wallet backend). We know it's centralized right now. Once the design is stable, we plan to release the build tools and documentation so anyone can stand up their own instance and join the network. Decentralization is the goal, not just the branding.
While messages use end-to-end encryption (NIP-17/NIP-04) and Cashu provides transaction privacy, metadata such as public keys, timestamps, and relay connections may be visible. The Nostr relay stores events that are published to it. Do not share sensitive personal information.
By using litStrudel you agree not to:
You retain ownership of content you publish. By posting to the relay, you grant the relay operator permission to store and distribute that content to other users of the platform. The operator reserves the right to remove content or revoke relay access at any time.
In no event shall the operator be liable for any loss of funds (test or otherwise), data loss, service interruption, or any other damages arising from the use of this software. You use litStrudel entirely at your own risk.
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
